Sheway provides comprehensive health and social services to women who are either pregnant or parenting children less than 18 months old and who are experiencing current or previous issues with substance use. The program consists of prenatal, postnatal and infant health care, education and counseling for nutrition, child development, addictions, HIV and Hepatitis C, housing and parenting.
The Tu'wusht Project is a beautiful Indigenous led initiative connecting people to food and nature. This community inclusive initiative focuses on the urban Indigenous population who face the most barriers in accessing natural environment and appropriate nutritious traditional foods.
The Aboriginal Child and Family Support Services are community-based services to assist and support caregivers with the goal of promoting parental competency and strengthening family life, leading to healthy child and family development.
The dental clinic is a not for profit clinic. Our clinic is staffed by volunteers and offers emergency pain relief treatments only for people with an acute dental condition which presents a notorious threat to his/her dentition and requires immediate attention.
The medical clinic is the gateway for most people who seek life changing help from VNHS and as such, is a vital part of the Society. We are a multidisciplinary comprehensive care clinic responding to the needs of our Indigenous and non-Indigenous community. Our experience has shown that providing integrated, innovative and comprehensive health care can improve patient acceptance of care and treatment outcomes.
